President Barack Obama said he had “no regrets” about defending the rights of Muslims to build an Islamic center near the World Trade Center site in New York.
Obama was responding to a question as he left an event in Columbus, Ohio. His comments about the controversy last week drew criticism from some Republicans and some representatives of families of those killed at the World Trade Center in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
