United Bank for Africa Plc’s Senegalese unit is “very open” to acquiring other lenders in the West African nation as it aims to be among the country’s top five banks, Chief Executive Officer Jean Luc Konan said.

UBA Senegal SA, which began operations in the country in May 2009, plans to triple its branch network to nine by 2011, Konan said in an interview in the capital, Dakar, Aug. 13.
