Qatar’s Nakilat Takes Delivery of Final LNG Tanker

Qatar Gas Transport Co., the Persian Gulf emirate’s liquefied natural gas transporter known as Nakilat, said today it took delivery of the Rasheedaa Q-Max class tanker, the last of 54 vessels ordered by the company.
The Rasheedaa, one of the 14 largest LNG tankers in the world, was constructed at Samsung Heavy Industries Co. facility in South Korea and will be used by Qatar Liquefied Gas Co. under a long-term charter, the company said in a statement on the Qatar Exchange website. The emirate is the world’s largest producer of LNG, gas cooled to a liquid for transport by ship.
