Senate Republicans blocked legislation that would require corporations and unions to disclose their spending on political advertising.
The vote today to bring the bill to the Senate floor was 57 in favor and 41 opposed, with 60 votes needed to advance the measure. The chamber’s 41 Republicans cast all of the “no” votes.
