Hewlett-Packard Names Bill Veghte as Software Chief

Hewlett-Packard Co. named Microsoft Corp.’s former Windows marketing executive Bill Veghte to lead its $3.6 billion software division.

Veghte, who left Microsoft in January, takes over from Tom Hogan, who was tapped last month to oversee sales, marketing and strategy for Hewlett-Packard’s enterprise business group, the company said today. Veghte, 42, starts May 17.
