Kraft Hurt Image in U.K. Over Cadbury, Lawmakers Say

Kraft Foods Inc. damaged its reputation in the U.K. with its handling of the Cadbury Plc takeover, and the government should monitor its compliance with pledges on plant closings, a panel of lawmakers said.
Kraft will have to invest “significant time and effort” to restore its reputation with the U.K. public, Parliament’s Business, Innovation and Skills Committee said in a report published in London today. Cadbury agreed in January to be sold to Northfield, Illinois-based Kraft for 11.7 billion pounds ($17.8 billion) after a five-month battle.
