MOMA Acquires "@" For Its Permanent Collection
Paola Antonelli, the senior curator of the Department of Architecture and Design at New York’s MOMA, tells me that MOMA has acquired the “@” symbol for its collection. This is breakthrough stuff. We increasingly live in a digital world, of nonstuff. Yet, it is real to us. Bringing @ into MOMA is a statement that you no longer have to have a physical object to highlight it’s importance. You can tag it.
