Introducing TED Fellow: Susie Ibarra

New York City-based musician likes to defy stereotypes. As a composer and percussionist, she hails from the world of jazz, but has collaborated with numerous musicians from myriad different genres. To date, she has recorded over 40 CDs while, with Cuban composer Roberto Rodriguez, she recently founded the company, Song of the Bird King. The aim of this collaboration is no less than “to preserve with film and music indigenous culture and ecology.”
