Venture capitalists predict the number of startup companies holding initial public offerings will double to 26 next year as the market starts to recover from the worst slump in four decades.
Almost three-fourths of venture investors say 20 or more startups will sell shares to the public, compared with 13 this year and 6 in 2008, according to a poll of venture capitalists released today by the National Venture Capital Association. The average estimate is 26 deals, the survey said.
