Prudential Rises After Forecasting $1.5 Billion Gain

Prudential Financial Inc., the second-biggest U.S. life insurer, rose the most in a month after saying it will record a $1.5 billion gain from the sale of a stake in a Wells Fargo & Co. securities brokerage unit.

Prudential advanced $1.86, or 3.8 percent, to $51.01 at 4 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. The Newark, New Jersey-based company is trading at the highest since October.
