Malaysian Airline System Bhd., the country’s national carrier, said the first deliveries of its Airbus A380 super-jumbo planes have been delayed at the manufacturer’s request.

The planes are now slated to start arriving in August 2011 at the earliest, Malaysian Air said in a statement today. The first of the airline’s six A380s were supposed to arrive in Kuala Lumpur in January 2011, with additional planes being delivered at one-month intervals.
