Google will provide an update on its much-anticipated Chrome OS, the operating system for PCs and other devices that it announced in July. At the time, many people—I think erroneouslyBloomberg Terminal—assumed that Google was taking on Microsoft’s Windows directly. But there’s little doubt Chrome OS will roil the waters in computing and the Internet, so any details forthcoming will be closely followed.

In any case, today is when we’ll find out a bit more—including, perhaps, some idea of when it will be available next year. Assuming the Webcast from Google works, I’ll blog the event here.
