Adobe Agrees to Acquire Omniture for $1.8 Billion

Adobe Systems Inc., the biggest maker of graphic-design programs, agreed to buy Omniture Inc. for $1.8 billion, expanding into software that helps companies measure the effectiveness of their online advertising.

Adobe will pay $21.50 a share, 24 percent more than Omniture’s closing price today, according to a joint statement. San Jose, California-based Adobe fell as much as 4.9 percent in extended trading after the news.
