Dow Chemical Co. loaned a company airplane to the mission to secure the release of U.S. journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling, who had been imprisoned in North Korea since March.
Ling publicly thanked those who helped gain the reporters’ freedom, including Dow Chief Executive Officer Andrew Liveris, when she arrived today at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California. The release of Lee and Ling followed a meeting between former U.S. president Bill Clinton and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il.
