Essilor to Buy Stake in U.K.’s Wholesale Lens Corporation

Essilor International SA, the world’s largest maker of eyeglass lenses, agreed to buy a "significant" stake in Wholesale Lens Corporation Ltd., a U.K. maker of lenses.
The French company didn’t give the size of the stake or the price it will pay in a statement today. The agreement must be approved by U.K. competition authorities, it said.
