General Steel May Acquire China Rival, Director Says

General Steel Holdings Inc., a Beijing-based steelmaker whose shares trade only in the U.S., may expand by acquiring a Chinese rival, a company director said.

“The market is consolidating so fast that we have to grab as much market share as possible right now,” Ross Warner, a director at General Steel, said today in a telephone interview. “It’s a target-rich environment going on.”
