French Regulator Seeks Quicker Data on Power Outages

Electricite de France SA, the world’s biggest operator of atomic reactors, and other French power producers should publish plant-outage data more quickly to improve market transparency, the country’s energy regulator said.
Utilities should submit information on unplanned shutdowns within “a few minutes,” the Commission de Regulation de l’Energie said today in a statement on its Web site. The current method doesn’t permit market participants “to adequately anticipate production” or the supply-demand balance, it said.
