European Car Production Will Fall 25% in 2009, Ghosn Says

Car production in Europe will probably fall 25 percent this year because of the economic slump, according to Carlos Ghosn, president of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Sales of cars are likely to decline by about 20 percent this year in Europe, he said. Ghosn, who is also chief executive officer of Renault SA, told reporters about the forecasts today in Brussels.
