Steve & Barry's LLC, a 276-store casual apparel retailer, filed for Chapter 11 protection yesterday in Manhattan along with 63 affiliates, saying assets are $693 million while debt totals $638 million.
The company said it will use Chapter 11 to explore a ``potential sale of the company and/or its assets.''
