PartyGaming Sales Miss Forecast on Poker Competition

PartyGaming Plc, owner of the PartyPoker.com Web site, said sales were ``slightly'' below its forecast in May and June because of competition from rivals that still accept bets from Americans.

PartyGaming dropped as much as 12 percent, the most in 15 months, in London trading. Larger bonuses were needed to draw players for some poker tournaments, and expenses climbed as well, the Gibraltar-based company said today in a statement.
