American LaFrance LLC, the manufacturer of fire trucks and emergency vehicles that filed in Chapter 11 at the end of January, yesterday received approval of a modified disclosure statement explaining the Chapter 11 plan amended just before the hearing.
Although the reorganization plan is being sent to creditors for a vote, the official creditors' committee filed a motion asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Judge in Delaware to appoint a Chapter 11 trustee. The company responded by saying that inserting a trustee would cause a default under secured lending arrangements and might result in a liquidation.
