Deutsche Post AG, Europe's biggest postal service, appointed logistics-division head Frank Appel as chief executive officer, succeeding Klaus Zumwinkel, who quit last week after prosecutors began a tax-evasion probe.
Appel, 46, won unanimous support from Deutsche Post's supervisory board and will take over as CEO immediately, the Bonn-based company said in a statement today. The board also accepted Zumwinkel's resignation after 18 years as chief.
