Laurent-Perrier Profit Rises 32% on Luxury Brands

Laurent-Perrier SA said first-half profit rose 32 percent as the French champagne maker sold more higher-priced vintages. The shares gained the most in seven weeks.

Net income climbed to 17.2 million euros ($25.7 million) in the six months through September, from 13.1 million euros a year earlier, the Tours-sur-Marne, France-based company said today in a statement in French daily La Tribune. That beat the 15.1 million-euro estimate from Natixis Securities analyst Josephine Chevalier.
