U.S. Steel to Buy Lone Star for $2.1 Billion

U.S. Steel (X) agrees to acquire Lone Star Technologies (LSS) in a deal valued at about $2.1 billion. Terms: $67.50 per share in cash for each Lone Star Technologies share held. U.S. Steel expects the transaction to be accretive to its 2007 earnings per share (EPS.)
Boeing (BA) says Avianca Airlines, Colombia's flagship air carrier, has ordered ten 787s, worth approximately $1.5 billion. The order also includes purchase rights for an additional ten 787s.
