MTS Wins Tender to Build, Operate Tel Aviv Light Rail

MTS Group, which includes holding company Africa Israel Investments Ltd. and Germany's Siemens AG, won a contract to build and run a light railway network for greater Tel Aviv, Israel's biggest commercial and population center.

The group won rights to build a 22-kilometer (13.6-mile) system and operate it for 32 years, Yehud, Israel-based Africa Israel, which holds 20 percent of MTS, said in a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange today.
