SSA Global Technologies Inc., which makes software that helps manage employee wages and benefits, agreed to be acquired by Infor for about $1.36 billion to create the third-largest global enterprise software company by revenue.

Closely held Infor will pay $19.50 a share for Chicago-based SSA. The offer is 25 percent more than SSA's closing price May 12, and about 77 percent higher than SSA's $11-a-share initial public offering in May 2005. Shareholders owning about 84 percent of SSA shares have agreed to support the purchase.
