Zimbabwe’s first-quarter gold production in fell 19 percent compared with the last quarter of 2010, the state-controlled Herald reported, citing Chamber of Mines President Victor Gapare.

High-carbon ferrochrome production slumped 18 percent and platinum production fell two percent, the Harare-based newspaper said on its website. Nickel production rose almost four percent, the Herald said.
