The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the federal government has broad latitude to ask questions about the background of independent contractors who work at government facilities.
The high court today unanimously overturned a ruling that had limited government inquiries about contract workers at a California jet propulsion laboratory owned by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
