Sofia Coppola’s ‘Somewhere’ Wins Venice Film Festival Top Prize

Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere,” about a hard-living Hollywood actor who receives a surprise visit from his 11-year-old daughter, won the top award at the Venice Film Festival last night.

The jury at this year’s 10-day festival was led by U.S. filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who said the choice of Coppola, like the jury’s other decisions, was unanimous.
