With the iX, BMW marries Costco-capable interior space with a rash of futuristic details, including an infotainment system that responds to hand gestures, rather than taps or clicks. The car also gets 516 horsepower, decidedly on brand for the German marque. What’s unique: The panoramic sunroof features electrochromic shading, which means that it goes opaque at the push of the button, preserving cabin cool on hot sunny days.
