Chen is the founder and chairman of Victory Giant Technology, a manufacturer of printed circuit boards in China. The Huizhou-based firm had revenue of 10.7 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) in 2024. It supplies electronic components to more than 350 companies including Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Google and Amazon.
The majority of Chen's fortune is derived from his stake in Victory Giant Technology Huizhou, a printed circuit board producer in China that supplies electronic components to more than 350 companies, according to its company website. Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Google and Amazon are among its customers, according to a February 2025 filing.
Chen owns a 27% stake in the company through Shenzhen Shenghua Xinye, Victory Giant Technology (Hong Kong) and with his wife Liu Chunlan, according to its 2025 third-quarter report. Liu's stake is credited to Chen to reflect his status as the company's founder.
Cash holding is included in the calculation based on an analysis of insider transactions, dividends, taxes and market performance.
Zhu Xiyao, a spokesperson for the company, didn't respond to a request for comment on the net worth calculation.
Chen was born in April 1972 in Longnan city of the Gansu province. In 1989, he started serving in the military in the Taklamakan Desert located in Xinjiang, northwest of China.
Two years later, he left the military and joined a state-owned light industry bureau. He participated in a field trip to Shenzhen, a special economic zone designated under China's reform and opening up. Chen was impressed by the development and opportunities available there, and decided to move to the southern Guangdong province after resigning from the civil servant job.
In 1996, he started working as a salesperson in a Huizhou factory of a Taiwanese printed circuit board company. Four years later, he left the company and founded Shenghua Electronic in Shenzhen after realizing the broad demand for the product.
In 2003, he moved back to Huizhou and established Victory Giant Technology. It became publicly traded in Shenzhen in 2015.
