Born in 1968, Li has a degree of Fudan University and a MBA from China Europe International Business School, according to CATL's prospectus.
He worked in electrical engineering companies before joining CATL. He began serving as co-vice chairman of the company in December 2015, according to the battery maker's 2019 annual report.
CATL started trading publicly on the Shenzhen stock exchange in June 2018. It has produced at least four billionaires.
