Prince was born in raised in Utah. His father was a former journalist who later opened a group of restaurants and his mother ran her own gift stores.
After graduating from Trinity College in Connecticut with a minor in computer science, Prince turned down job offers at Netscape, Yahoo and Microsoft, according to an interview published in the New York Times. Instead, he attended law school and later launched his own start-up companies.
In 2009, began a MBA at Harvard Business School where he met Michelle Zatlyn. Soon after, Prince, Lee Holloway and Zatlyn co-founded Cloudflare. The company became publicly traded in New York in 2019.
