Rising Food Costs Hit Restaurants
Affordability is front and center this Thanksgiving week — and it’s not just grocery shoppers feeling the pinch. Restaurants nationwide are grappling with rising costs that many diners don’t see. A new report from the Public Policy Institute of California shows food prices are up roughly 30% from six years ago. Caroline Styne, Co-Founder of The Lucques Group and founding member of the Independent Restaurant Coalition joined Bloomberg Open Interest to talk about the state of the industry.
