Shutdown Data Delay Complicates Fed's Path
Elizabeth Renter, senior economist at NerdWallet, says that private eco data has both positives and negatives as economists, as well as the Fed, turn to other sources to supplement delayed government data. Renter said that her view on the labor market matches up with Fed chair Jerome Powell, that there is some weakness in the labor market but the unemployment rate is not alarming.
