UniCredit Withdraws Takeover Bid for Banco BPM

UniCredit decided to drop its bid for rival Banco BPM, ending an eight-month standoff with its rival and the Italian government. UniCredit said it withdrew the offer because it effectively couldn’t secure government authorization. Bloomberg's Chiara Albanese reports.
