France Sees US Backing Up a Ukraine Peacekeeping Force
French Finance Minister Eric Lombard says he expects to see US involvement in any potential peacekeeping efforts in the event of a truce being reached between Russia and Ukraine. "We want that this ceasefire be guaranteed by European countries with an American backup," Lombard told Bloomberg's Jennifer Zabasajja on the sidelines of the Group of 20 meeting in Cape Town. "President Trump said he would agree," he adds.
