Trump and Modi Vow to Deepen Defense Ties and Boost Trade
President Donald Trump said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to begin negotiations to address the US trade deficit, in a White House press conference. Trump said the US would be increasing military sales by “many billions of dollars” including taking steps to ultimately provide India with F-35 fighters. Modi, meanwhile, set a target to double bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.
