Growing up in Compton, California in the 1980s, O’Shea Jackson was recognized for his storytelling abilities as early as the fifth grade. He took up rapping in high school and eventually adopted the stage name Ice Cube. The group he co-founded as a teenager, NWA, would revolutionize music, and his ability to craft compelling narratives, while never wandering far from controversy, would be the foundation of a decades-long career spanning music, movies and sports.
