Starmer: Capital Gains Tax Speculation Wide of the Mark
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer says speculation that the government is considering raising capital gains tax as high as 39% is “wide of the mark.” He made the comments, which appeared to be an attempt to calm investors and markets ahead of the Oct. 30 budget, in an interview with Bloomberg’s Head of Economics and Politics Stephanie Flanders at the International Investment Summit in London.
