One Year Since Hamas Attacked Israel; Goldman Upgrades China Call | Bloomberg The Pulse 07/10/24
Today marks one year since the deadly Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel. Now, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is locked in a multi-front conflict with no clear end is sight. Hamas fired a barrage of rockets toward Tel Aviv after Israel bombed a number of targets connected to the militant group in Gaza, as fighting escalated after a year of war. In addition to Gaza, Israel is waging a ground and air offensive across its northern border in Lebanon to combat Hezbollah, another Iran-supported group. In economic news, Goldman Sachs upgraded its call on Chinese stocks to overweight, as it joined a camp of optimists that are touting the positive impact of Beijing’s stimulus blitz. Today's guests: Charlotte Ryland, CCLA Investment Management Head of Investments and Sanam Vakil, Chatham House Director of Middle East and North Africa Programme.
