Wesfarmers CEO Sees Caution from Australian Households
Australia's weak consumption has been weighing on the nation's economic growth, with last week's GDP numbers showing consumer spending slowing to a crawl in the June quarter. Wesfarmers is Australia's largest non-food retail group and operates some of country's most recognizable brands including Bunnings, Target and KMart. CEO and Managing Director, Rob Scott says there is a real degree of caution from households, in particular younger families who are dealing with higher interest rates.
