BNP Paribas Chief Financial Officer Lars Machenil said volatility including elections supported the results in the second quarter. Profit rose on surging equities trading revenues, giving a boost to the chief executive officer's plan to raise profitability. BNP Paribas is still looking to ‘redeploy’ the 7 billion euros of capital they got from the sale of Bank of the West, though the CFO declined to comment on possible €1.4 trillion ($ 1.52 trillion) joint venture with Axa in asset management.
