Markets Complacent Over Political Risk, Says First Eagle Investment's Appio
Idanna Appio, Portfolio Manager at First Eagle Investments says markets are being complacent over political risks with key elections in the US, UK and France this year, due to major fiscal decisions that need to be made -- citing the bond blow-up that occurred under the UK's Truss premiership in 2022. She said Wednesday's US CPI report will be critical in determining the pace of rate hikes for the year. She spoke with Dani Burger on Bloomberg Brief.
