IMF Sees Weak Global Growth in 2024 Amid Stubborn Inflation

“The global economy is limping along, not sprinting,” said International Monetary Fund Chief Economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas as the IMF lifted its global inflation forecast for next year and sees global growth of 2.9% for next year, down 0.1% from its outlook in July. Gourinchas spoke Tuesday at the annual IMF-World Bank meetings, which are taking place this week in Marrakech, Morocco.
