Putin: Russia to Suspend Participation in New START Treaty
President Vladimir Putin said Russia will suspend its observation of the New START nuclear weapons treaty, saying, “there is no connection between the START treaty and the conflict in Ukraine and other hostile activities of the West in our country.” Putin delivered an address to Russia’s parliament and top officials in Moscow on Tuesday.
