Abu Dhabi, Qatar Target Sports Teams
Gulf states are said to be planning multiple spending sprees to acquire some of the biggest teams in sports. A consortium, led by Qatari royals plans a $6 billion opening for Manchester United Football Club, according to people familiar with the matter. Qatar’s Sovereign Wealth Fund and its Abu Dhabi counterpart are also looking at stakes in teams in the NBA. Simone Foxman reports on Bloomberg Television.
