Bakrie and Brothers CEO, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, is embarking on an ambitious project to transform the 80-year-old group, driving the pivot to renewable energy and electric vehicles. The conglomerate has a wide-ranging business portfolio which includes mining, oil and gas, construction services, and telecommunications. Bakrie & Brothers was founded in 1942 as a general trading and distribution company by Anindya's grandfather, and expanded under the leadership of his father. Anindya took over as CEO in 2019 after successfully turning around the group's struggling TV business. In this week's Generation Next, he tells Bloomberg's Chief Southeast Asia Correspondent, Haslinda Amin, about the next step in the company's evolution.
