    • 00:00You just were with President Trump in Pittsburgh with the president talking about regulatory policies. What impact are you seeing that that's having on states like Pennsylvania. Oh it's having a huge impact when you look at what the president has done with his vision of clear and common sense regulation deregulating in areas like interior . We are substantially changing the amount of time it takes to get work done. The amount of effort that needs to go into deciding whether a project merits approval or not. And as a result of that we're having tremendous results for the American people for example today . I'm really excited to announce that we will be rolling out our oil and gas revenues from federal lands . And those revenues will demonstrate that between from today since from F Y 19 fiscal year 19 revenues on federal lands have nearly doubled what they were in fiscal year 2016. If ISE is interesting because your critics would raise concerns about the environment as it relates to fracking and whatnot but we were talking before this interview about how well you're saying that these policies have actually enabled the government to make investments in the states and in the states decide what to do with those revenues. That that is what people need to recognize often is that development on federal lands means that a portion of that money virtually half goes back to every state . So states like New Mexico receive over a billion dollars this year from activities on federal lands that led to oil and gas leasing opportunities. And then no states take those moneys and they use them for education for roads for law enforcement very important services that they're able to provide to their citizenry based on the development of federal lands. All right . We got some big decisions coming up. So I got to just quickly ask you about this with the vineyard wind . Is that final decision on the projects so anticipated by March . Oh I think you know we have a process that we go through for all our decisions. And where we are with a project like that is that we're analyzing that is space. Wind is offshore. Wind is a space where we've seen tremendous potential interest and growth by governors by industry and others . And so we have to look forward at the reasonably foreseeable development. And in doing that I think the development future has changed a little bit positively between when that project started and today. And as a result of that we need to do our environmental impact review in a way that that accommodates those future expectations. And in doing that we're looking now broadly at at how we can better analyze when wind in its future . Any update on NYSE and where that sense. Well I A.R. is also a big one. You know the president and Congress open Anwar after 40 years. A huge. And we are in a process now of finishing an environmental impact statement that will lead to a leasing decision through what is called a record of decision. And I would expect that that would be done by the end of the year . And just you know I was also struck by this. In researching this E bikes IBEX which are all over the city of Washington D.C. I know I ride them but now they're gonna be able to be utilized on some natural large. I'm sorry out some national parks. Well we're in a process just like everyone else. We've seen the bike revolution. And what this is is for people that don't know there are bicycle is now that you pedal and they still have an assistance mechanism that allows you to go a little farther or if you're a little less able to go to go at all and waste a little boost that would be a great analogy. And so what we're doing we believe fundamentally that people need to get out and utilize our public lands and enjoy them. And the easy bikes look like bikes. They ride like bikes and they pedal like a bike. And so if you're a pedaling we think you should be able to use it responsibly where bikes are allowed. And so we're working through a process to ensure that people can do that because frankly within a year or two you won't be able to tell the difference between any bike and a bike. I think Secretary Ammunition would take that up. I know he's a biker. Right . Final question for you. You're heading into a political season and an election year and so much is going to be attacked and criticized especially as it relates to fracking and whatnot . What's the bottom line as you go to these battleground states whether it's Pennsylvania New Mexico other Colorado where you're from your home state. I mean what's the bottom line. What is something that you think that is really getting lost in the mix of all of this as it relates. On the issue of permitting process for the private sector and the public private partnerships. But I'd say the bottom line is this. The President ran and won on a vision that said we're going to have common sense regulations we're going to be protective of the environment protective of our air and water but we're gonna do it in a way that's common sense and works. And he's delivering results to the American people in spades. And that was the great thing about going to Pittsburgh yesterday. He went into a venue where he made a bunch of promises about what the future of regulation would look like under him. And yesterday he got back to that same group three years later and said I've delivered for you on these things in a positive way. I have kept my promises the promises that I made to you the American people .
