00:00You've been looking at soccer or as the Europeans would prefer to call it football specifically the Premier League in the UK . What appeals to you there. Football is the biggest sport in the world. The passion that the fans have for the activity in the sport and the teams is unparalleled. So when you start to think about you know what you're trying to build with these teams is you're really trying to a win b be part of the community and opportunity that we had with the Dodgers. It was really about a partnership with Los Angeles . How are we gonna win. How are we going to drive championships and how are we going to build passion. Right so if you look at what the Premier League offers it's all of those things. It's the highest quality play. It's the best players. You also have a media market that's just really developing. So you know one of the great things that Premier League has is that it's on Saturday morning in America. So you have an uncontested timeslot that is now kind of fully dominated by Premier League and NBC has done an amazing job building bringing that content . I mean when I was growing up packed me on Donkey Kong. But certainly I didn't know about Man United. I didn't know about Chelsea. I didn't know about Tottenham. I didn't know about these clubs. Kids these days are fully aware of what's the best and the Premier League is the best. What are the chances that you'll end up owning or investing in one of these football clubs . You know you can never predict these things you know again they're super one of the nice things about them is that they're relationship driven and their team people driven and therefore it's unlikely that one just gets put up and sold by auction. So by developing long term relationships and getting to know them ultimately you know whether or not something happens. I don't know but what I do know is that I've learned a lot. I've learned a lot about kind of what the fan base looks like. I've learned about the global opportunity. I can't believe that American football was able to get the word football you know because to me you know that should be football . But you know that to me the fact is that it's still the best product in the world. It's 90 minutes so it's got a great timeline. You know the new stadiums that they're building you know I think they're starting to take some American approaches to building stadiums and they're making them environments. You know they were very utilitarian historically but now they're starting to think about themselves as lifestyle. And if you look at what Americans were very good at. It's been building lifestyle within stadiums. You know originally the stadiums were a place where you would go and you would leave and you would watch an event. Now they're starting to think about how do we entertain you earlier and how do we keep you long. Her and that obviously works on lots of levels that drives the experience it drives the economics. And it also takes away from the congestion of arrival and departure football clubs aren't cheap. Do you think the prices that they trade at represent value that's the million dollar question. I think that the multi-millionaire has lost the billion dollar billion pound question. I think that you know there's it's hard to buy quality and also not have to pay up. And it's a question of can you continue to build on what you've acquired at that price. And you know I think that's that that's obviously the question I continue to believe that there's global opportunity for you know the best ones. I don't think you should expect you know 30 percent rates of return on them. But I also think they're very stable and they're unlikely to disappear and fall off the face of the map. So I think you have real stability in what you're buying. I think that multiple revenue streams will continue to grow. But I do believe that the current owners know all this too. So you know ultimately it comes down to can something get done that both sides think makes sense .
